How
do you protect the privacy of the information I submit
to you?
alt.TYPE does not disclose, give, sell or transfer any personal information
about our visitors, unless required for law enforcement by statute. We guard
your information religiously. If you choose to provide us with additional information
about yourself through an e-mail message, form, etc., alt.TYPE will maintain
the information only as long as needed to respond to your question or to fulfill
the stated purpose of the communication e.g. for you to receive alerts when
new Information Memorandums, Promotions, pertinent Customer notices, etc. are
published.
How
do I remove my name from the alt.TYPE email promotions
list?
Simply go to “My Account” and update your preferences under “MY
Profile” and uncheck the box “Keep me informed of alt.TYPE news”.
Or, you can simply click the reply button on any email from us with the word “Unsubscribe” in
the subject line.
How
do I change my password?
Proceed to “My Account” at the top right of our homepage and select “My
Profile”. Simply click “Update Password” at the bottom of
the page.
How
do I update my particulars?
Proceed to “My Account” at the top right of our homepage and select “My
Profile”. When you finish updating your contact details, simply click “edit
details”
I’ve
forgotten my password.
Not a problem! Proceed to “Sign-in” and click on “Forget
your password?”

PRICING & PURCHASE
INFORMATION
What
currency are prices stated in?
All prices on the alt.TYPE website are stated in US (USD) and Singapore Dollars
(SGD).
How do I conduct a purchase online?
There are several
ways you can purchase image(s) or CD(s) from our site but
the easiest way is:
Step 1
Make sure you have registered an account in order to use our site. Wherever
you are in the site there is always a search field at the top and on the left
hand side of the screen.
Step 2
To search for an image or a CD, you need to enter a keyword (a word related
to the image you want to find, e.g. if you want a picture of a cow you enter "cow").
This will bring back a list of search results back to the page for you to choose
a picture you like. Click on the image to bring up a bigger preview (the watermarks will
not be on the image that you buy).
Step 3
Now click "ADD TO CART" to
add the image to your virtual shopping cart. At every step you will be given
the option to abandon the purchase procedure. Choosing that option will return
you, and the selected images, to the Shopping Cart. You can also add items
to the Shopping Cart from a lightbox. Images can be stored in the Shopping
Cart between site visits, so you do not have to buy everything at one time.
Step 4
When you are ready to purchase the image(s) and/or CD(s) in your Shopping
Cart, click "VIEW CART" to proceed with your purchase. At this point, you
will need to select the desired resolution/size that you require for the image(s).
Then choose your preferred delivery method. When you have finished, click "continued
to CHECK OUT". Note: Certain
file sizes (as indicated by Grey Radio Button) are currently not available
online, you will have to contact rf@alttype.biz for offline purchase.
Step 5
At the License Agreement page, you have to agree to be bound by the
terms and conditions imposed by the publishers in order to purchase and
use the image(s). Click "I agree to all" to proceed (clicking
on "I do not agree" will page you back to your Shopping Cart). Be
sure to read the license usage specifications/restrictions thoroughly
before agreeing.
Step 6
Fill in the required (*) shipping and billing information. Then click "Confirm
Order". A summary of your order is generated. When you are satisfied
with your order, click "proceed to PAYMENT".
Step 7
Fill in your credit card details and click "SUBMIT". A dialog
box will appear, click OK to proceed with the transaction. Thereafter,
a transaction
acknowledgement is generated. Print out a copy for your reference.
Step 8
Lastly, click "Proceed to DOWNLOAD" on your receipt page and
it will direct you back to your ORDER HISTORY where you can download
your image(s).
How do I know if my CD order has been received?
You
will receive an email from alt.TYPE bearing the heading "Order
Confirmation and Acceptance. If you don't hear from us,
please contact our customer

What
is the exchange policy on an image or CD?
Once you've downloaded your image(s),
there are no refunds. However, we will work with you
to determine a solution should a quality issue arise.
If you
have a defective CD, we'll replace the CD at our expense. This is subject to
you reporting the matter to alt.TYPE within forty-eight (48) hours upon receiving
your CD.
What are the payment methods?
Currently, alt.TYPE
accepts credit cards from Visa and Mastercard. Also available
to orders by phone/walk-in are American Express, cheque and
C.O.D. payments.
How fast is delivery of my purchased items?
CDs
For Singapore
and Malaysia orders, all CDs are delivered via a local dispatch
service and should reach you on the next working day.
Single Image(s)
For single image(s), you may download the images from the website immediately
after payment is confirmed.
Do
you accept international order(s)?
Yes. alt.TYPE
welcome all international/overseas orders. However, not
all Images/CDs are available
for international order due to supplier’s restrictions.
Are
there any additional shipping charge(s) for my order?
Singapore – Free
Malaysia – Free*
Asia Pacific – USD 18.00*
Australia, Japan New Zealand – USD 24.00*
Africa, America, Europe,Middle East – USD 30.00*
*Applicable for up to 0.5 kg only, overweight items will be charged accordingly.
Please note that certain CDs are not available for international orders or
specific countries due to supplier restrictions. You will be notified and advised
accordingly.
Local Delivery
Local deliveries are available Mondays to Fridays subject to stock availability.
Order placed before 12 noon will be delivered on the same day. Order placed
after 12 noon will be delivered the next day.
No deliveries are available on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. Delivery
hours are between 10 am to 6 pm from Mondays to Fridays. If you need urgent
delivery within a specific time, please contact alt.TYPE by phone at 65 6236
2988. A surcharge of $8.00 is applicable.
International Delivery
No deliveries are available on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
Overseas orders may take 2 -7 days or longer for delivery depending on customs
clearance, delays in the destination country, missed or cancelled delivery.
We will always aim to send you the CD at the shortest time possible. You can
always check your shipping status by emailing to atorders@alttype.biz
How do I use my lightbox?
Lightboxes allow
you to collect, annotate and share sets of images in an online
personalized collection. You can rename your Lightboxes,
add notes to individual images, email Lightboxes or access
other people's Lightboxes.
Adding images to a Lightbox
You can add images to a Lightbox from any Image Details page by clicking the
'Add to Lightbox' link that appears below any image. The image will be added
to your active Lightbox. If you have the Lightbox View selected on the bottom
frame of the page, you will immediately see the image added to your Lightbox.
After an image is added to a Lightbox, a 'Remove from Lightbox' icon to the
right of the image thumbnail will appear in the Lightbox. To remove an image
from your active Lightbox, click this icon.
Creating a Lightbox
To create a new Lightbox, choose 'New Lightbox' on the Lightbox Options
drop-down menu. Enter a name for your new Lightbox (Lightbox names can
be up to 20 characters long); then click 'Create'. The Lightbox you create
will automatically become your active Lightbox.
Activating different Lightboxes
On the Image Details page, in the bottom Lightbox area, the Lightbox name that
displays in the 'My Lightbox 1' drop-down menu is your active Lightbox. When
you click 'Add to Lightbox' under any image, the image will be added to this
Lightbox. To activate a different Lightbox, select a different Lightbox from
this drop-down menu. If your chosen Lightbox is empty, no images will display.
Emailing a Lightbox
You can share a Lightbox with others
by emailing it to them. They'll receive email containing a link to the
Lightbox (with the thumbnail images, image numbers, title and notes).
They won't be able to add or remove images or access any of your other
Lightboxes (or any of your account information), but they can add notes
to the images in the Lightbox and purchase any of the images. To email
a Lightbox, select 'Email Lightboxl' from the Lightbox Options drop-down
menu. After you choose the Lightbox you want to send from this menu,
fill in the 'To' field. The 'From' field will be prepopulated for you,
but you can change it if you'd like. Then click the 'Email' button and
your Lightbox will be on its way. You can send the same Lightbox to several
different people; just enter multiple email addresses in 'To', separating
them with semicolons.
Renaming a Lightbox
To rename a Lightbox, select 'Rename Lightbox' on the Lightbox Options drop-down
menu. Enter a new name for the Lightbox (Lightbox names can be up to 20 characters
long); then click 'Rename'. The Lightbox you rename will automatically become
your active Lightbox.
Deleting a Lightbox
To delete a Lightbox, select 'Delete Lightbox' on the Lightbox Options drop-down
menu. You may delete all your Lightboxes if you wish. If you do, when you come
back to the site, one new, empty Lightbox will automatically be created for
you, called My Lightbox 1.
Does
my browser need to accept cookies?
No. We respect people's needs to their privacy - our website utilises sessions
- which simply means that we do not use cookies, so your information remains
safe - with you.
Do
I need to make a secure connection to the alt.TYPE website?
Yes,
a secure connection is required for some of our pages,
but it is not necessary for the purposes of browsing
for products.
